HAVERING MAYESBROOK AC star Kate Cowley may have had a big smile on her face when she picked up the Senior Women's Field Cup at Friday's awards ceremony, but her smile was even broader on Sunday, when she smashed her pole vault PB and club record at Brunel.

After concentrating on the vault this winter she was looking to do well in her opening indoor competition of the winter and how she succeeded.

Cowley improved her record by 45cms, almost 18 inches, to become the first club female over three metres with her clearance of 3.30m.
