HAVERING Mayesbrook AC's ladies showed the men how it should be done as they picked up a clutch of medals at the Essex Cross Country Championships in Basildon on Saturday.
Eleanor Bounds maintained her incredible unbeaten streak as she transferred her sublime form from the Essex League to take the under-15 honours by a 10-second margin in 17.31.
Sidnie Sales narrowly missed out on a frame place as she ran a strong race in fourth in 18.01, while seventh-placed Rachel Sadler (18.43) and Amber Turner (16th - 19.47) ensured the Havering girls took the team honours from Basildon.
Rebecca O'Neill (20th - 20.03), Emma McAuliffe (34th - 22.32) and Michelle Lovell (40th - 23.05) provided strong support for the winning quartet.
The near full-strength senior women's team swept aside all opposition to dominate the race and strike team gold.
Faye Fullerton and Alexa Joel were neck and neck for most of the race with the eventual winner and defending champion, Jo Wilkinson of Thurrock.
Both had to give way in the latter stages but still claimed individual silver and bronze medals ahead of international Jess Sparke, with Fullerton second in 31.48 and Joel third in 32.06.
Lauren Deadman also had a superb run in fifth in 33.20, beating Woodford's under-23 international Linzi Snow, and Debbie Appleton's excellent eighth place in 34.08 completed the victorious A team.
