DAGENHAM 88 runners Tracy Coates and Steve Ray impressed in the Watford Half Marathon.

With the temperatures dropping and the threat of snow apparent, the race was going to be a real challenge for the 2,000 starters, but it did not deter Coates.

Using the experience of her recent Sunday morning Hainault training sessions, she powered home in a personal best time of 1.54.34 in 1,292nd position.

Ray was nursing a sore calf muscle, but battled through and still managed to complete the course in a very respectable 2.01.32 in 1,552nd place.
