Tough weekend all over the country for Barking Road Runners members

Several athletes took on the Outlaw Ironman distance triathlon event in Nottingham
Barking Road Runners Daniel Plawiak’s hard work paid off as he completed his first Outlaw Ironman distance triathlon event in Nottingham at the weekend.
Plawiak stopped the clock on one hour, 26 minutes and 55 seconds for the 2.4 mile swim before a 112-mile cycle took 6.41.42, and the marathon distance run was completed in 5.34.57 to cross the finishing line in an overall time of 13.56.13.
Trevor Cooper, Cristina Cooper and Amanda Heslegrave also took part in the event but as part of a relay team where Heslegrave undertook the 2.4 mile swimming leg, Trevor Cooper the 112 mile cycle race leg followed by Cristina Cooper completing the 26.2 mile Marathon Run.
Meanwhile Maxine Brown received a surprise accolade in the post. Having taken part in the Southend Half Marathon a fortnight ago, unbeknown to her, she won a trophy for her age category.
A number of club runners took on the Barking park run, with Dervish Bartlett the first home in a time of 19.33, followed by Richard Gatehouse and Philip Ellul in 20.27 and 21.12 respectively.
Antony Leckerman stopped the clock on 22.08, while Andy Preston recorded 22.18 and Sally Bridge was the first female runner home in 24.10.
Ronald Vialls crossed the finishing line in 24.44, closely followed by Martin Brooks (25.11), Andrew Hiller (27.23) and Nikki Cranmer (27.28).
Also completing the course were Thomas Coughlan (28.04), Vicki Groves (28.09), Robert Courtier (30.45), George Hiller (32.07), Dawn Blake (32:.11), David George Mottley (34.18), Alan Murphy (38.30), Mikayla Culling (43.23), Trevor Parkin (49.05), James Byers (50.27) and Kresh Veerasamy (50.28)
Paul Withyman was the first club runner past the post at Valentines park run in a time of 20.16 with Rakesh Sandhu (22.38), Tom Barton (23.32), Mark Durrant (26.33) and Gillian Barton (34.21) also finishing. Gary Harford took on the Raphael park run and recorded 26.15, while Vicky Cooper stopped the clock on 24.08 over at Dartford.
Gareth Tucker finished in 34.44 in Huddersfield, while at Melton Mowbray, Trevor Cooper (23.47) and Cristina Cooper (27.03) impressed.
