Five Barking Abbey players have been named in Great Britain squads.

Pierce Maslen, Josh Ogundele, Teresa Da Silva, Charlotte Ellmore, and Zoe Willis have been named in the Under-18 men’s and women’s squads.

Maslen, Ogundele and Ellmore are hoping to make the step up from the Under-16s, after representing England last summer, whilst Da Silva and Willis will be hoping to make the European Championship squad for the first time.

Barking Abbey director Mark Clark said: “I am confident that all 5 have a very good chance at being involved in the final selection.

“Pierce is one the most hard working players we have had, in everything he does he commits 100 per cent, and in my opinion he has a potential pro player mentality.

“On the girls, they are all WBBL experienced.

“All three are going against quality seniors every week and all 3 have NCAA D1 level potential.”
