Barking & Dagenham Cycling Club youngsters impressed at the National Championships at Hillingdon on Saturday.

Tilly Malbon produced a superb performance to finish just four seconds behind the winner in the under-16 girls’ race in 22nd place, while Amy Harvey was two seconds behind the winner in the under-14 race in 24th place.

Max Wilkins had to pull out of his under-16 race due to injury, after finishing 13th at the Spring in the Park Series at Gravesend a day earlier.

Team-mate Damian Dodd was 23rd, while Malbon finished second in the girls’ race with Melissa Warrilow and Hannah Morgan coming home in fifth and sixth place respectively.

David Budjei finished seventh in the under-10 race, while Leah Warrilow pipped Harvey to victory in the under-14 girls’ race, as team-mate Carys Dodd finished close behind in fourth.
