Youngsters compete in National Youth Championships

Barking & Dagenham Cycling Club youngsters impressed in the first round of the National Youth Championships at the weekend.

Calen Miller (14th), Noah Hobbs (16th), Iona Moir (18th) and Liam Hanks (14th) produced a fantastic display of strength and determination in the under-14 and under-16 categories, with the older event attracting no fewer than 102 riders.

Spokesman Chris Marshall said: “The nationals are the biggest youth cycling competition in the UK and held five times a year.

“These are against the best youth riders in the country. The riders come from as far as Scotland and the isle of Man to compete so it’s a very big race.”
