Gale Street side set to receive £1,000 of Samsung equipment.

Ash Wright’s try in the 56-7 win over Ipswich last month has helped Barking Rugby Club win £1,000 worth of Samsung equipment.

Assistant coach Nigel Seaman, who joined the club at the beginning of this season alongside head coach Steve Wagstaff, entered the try as an example of skilful build-up play, ably finished off by Wright in the last minute of the game

“It was great to watch the number of offloads we had when we hit contact – I think I counted five – and up to when Ash took the ball,” said Seaman.

“We scored eight tries in that game but that one stands out for a lot of people because of the work involved in the build-up.”

And they have done just that. Every month an ex-England international looks through all the entries and picks the winner.

This time it was down to former Barking boy Jason Leonard to decide which try would win the competition.

And the 114-cap International opted for Wright’s try, saying: “It’s what I see as a true team try. There was eight passes as well and Ash Wright has still got to beat three men at the end of it as well.”

Along with the £1,000 for the club, Seaman, who submitted the video will also receive the latest Samsung headset.
