Dagenham BC youngster is in action in Milton Keynes this weekend

Dagenham BC’s National schools champion Tariq Agius looks to move towards another England Boxing title in Milton Keynes this weekend.

Agius meets Kurt Lee (Hoddesdon) at 42kg in the National quarter-finals of the Junior Cadet Championship at Bletchley ABC.

The club’s 52kg entry, Liam Carter, gets a bye into the semi-finals booked for the Basildon Leisure Centre on Saturday March 25.

The winners will then go forward to the National Finals, which will be held the following day at the Basildon Centre the following day.

England Boxing’s elite London finals take place at the Harrow Leisure Centre on March 30, one night before Dagenham BC’s tournament at Victoria Road.

The weigh-in and draw for the National Championships takes place in Tottenham on March 18.

The London preliminaries and semi-finals will then take place on March 23 and 24, also in Tottenham.

It looks set to be an important few weeks for plenty of boxers on the local scene.
