'Throw Yourself Into Judo' launches May 27

‘Throw Yourself Into Judo’ begins later this month

The British Judo Association are hoping to encourage more people to take up the sport through the launch of a new initiative.

‘Throw Yourself into Judo’ launches on May 27 and is aiming to create a new generation of judokas.

There are almost 900 judo clubs across the UK taking part in the programme and British Judo chairman Kerrith Brown is confident there will be a spike in numbers.

“Judo is a fantastic sport and is an ideal way to get fit, make new friends and have fun,” said Brown.

“It’s a sport with a rich tradition and has respect, self-discipline, fairness, responsibility, honesty and positivity at the centre of all its teachings.

“By launching ‘Throw Yourself Into Judo’ we aim to extend our reach within our existing network and also to engage with men and women, boys and girls who may have little or no knowledge of judo, to raise awareness of a sport that can truly benefit participants of all ages and abilities.”
