Youngster proves a knock-out hit ahead of packed summer schedule

Robert Clack pupil Regan Waller returned from his trip to Luton Academy with a win to his name after seeing off the challenge of rival Steven Duffy.

The youngsters squared off in the under-57kg bout, but it was Waller (left) who was in control of proceedings throughout the bout, knocking his opponent to the canvas on more than one occasion, much to the delight of his father Les who revealed his son has a busy few months ahead.

“It’s a tough place to get a win, but I’m delighted Regan was able to do that. Thanks to trainer Lenny Butcher too,” said Waller senior.

“We’ll be off to the Monkstown Championships in Dublin in July. If he wins three fights there then he’ll be crowned champion. Hopefully he can continue his good form that we’ve seen this season.”
