Kenrick Liburd will return to Barking Abbey to assist with their WBBL squad for the 2017-18 season.

Former Abbey student Liburd was an assistant to Mark Clark for two seasons previously, before serving as head coach of Oaklands Wolves in their debut season.

He said: “I’m thankful to for the opportunity afforded to me by Oaklands, to have had the experience of leading them into the WBBL.

“I’m delighted to be back working with Barking Abbey and Mark Clark again. We had competitive success last time around, culminating in a Trophy final appearance, so it will be good to see where we can take it.

“We have a good working relationship and mutual respect for each other on and off court.”

Clark added: “It’s great to welcome Kenrick back. He did a great job last year as head coach at Oaklands. I’m pleased he feels he can have an impact with us in the WBBL and develop the players within the academy.”
