NICKY COOK is booked for his first ring appearance since the disappointment of defeat against Steve Luevano in his world title bid last July, when big time boxing returns to east London's Docklands on February 2 with the Sports Network promotion at the ExCel Arena on Saturday February 2.

Dagenham's former British and European champion, who suffered his first defeat in 27 ring appearances when he lost that clash with Luevano for the vacant WBO featherweight championship, insisted that his world title dreams are far from over.

The 28-year-old Cook makes his return at the spacious Newham Arena where he appeared a year ago in his last contest before his world title challenge easily outscoring Harry Ramogoadi in an eight-round bout.

He makes the first step on the road back to glory on the bill that also features former Olympic silver star Amir Khan the current Commonwealth lightweight king looking to continue his highly-publicised progress.

Also booked for the Sports Network return to the massive Docklands Arena is Derry Matthews, the undefeated Liverpudlian WBU featherweight king, who also came to east London for his last defence - beating local rival Matthew Marsh at York Hall in October.

Matthews is due to defend his WBU title on the all-star February 2 bill.
