A round-up of the latest matches involving Goresbrook teams

Goresbrook seconds’ status as a Mid-Essex Division Two club hangs by a thread after a 34-run loss at home to Little Waltham.

A decent effort with the ball by the Goats was undermined by a succession of dropped catches.

Despite fine returns of 4-56 from Brad Winsley and 4-42 from Danny Gillham Sr, the visitor’s tally of 197-9 could have been less than 150 had those chances been taken.

Brook got off to a fine start in reply, built around 68 from stand-in skipper Jordan Harris, but once the rate started to escalate, they were in trouble.

Lee Jones dug-in for an unbeaten 38, but lacked support, with the hosts coming up short as a flurry of wickets fell in the final five overs.

Goresbrook third were also beaten as they went down by five wickets against Rayleigh in Division Seven.

Despite an unbeaten 70 from Andy Livett, Brook could only make 153, which Rayleigh chased without too much fuss.
