A round-up of the latest matches involving Goresbrook teams

Goresbrook seconds were one of the few teams to complete a game in Mid-Essex Division Two, albeit they went down by 81 runs at in-form Eastwood.

Matt Friend’s men were on the back-foot from the off as Eastwood put together a 93-run stand for the opening wicket.

Despite another fine spell from Billy Smith (2-28), Eastwood accelerated past 200 with only three run-outs checking their progress.

The Belfairs Park-based side closed on 244-8 from their 45 overs, which always looked like being too many for the Goats.

And so it proved, as despite a promising start from Aaron Scott (27) and Ben Irving (26) and a composed 35 from Danny Gillham Jr., the visitors were all out for 163.

Goresbrook’s thirds and fourths were both rained off mid-way through the first innings in their respective games.

Joe Barwick’s 2-18 from 10 overs was the highlight of the thirds’ game against high-flying Galleywood.
