Scintilla hosted Mumbai' PJ Hindu Gymkhana in a friendly match


Scintilla host PJ Hindu Gymkhana of Mumbai, who are touring the country

Scintilla welcomed special guests to their home ground this week as they entertained the touring PJ Hindu Gymkhana club in a friendly match.

The visitng side from Mumbai, India showed their talent as they beat Scintilla, the reigning Essex County League Premier Division champions.

The match ended with a presentation by the club and a dinner for everyone who witnessed the special day.

The Barking club’s captain, Ahmed Choudhury, admitted the day would live long in the memory of everybody involved.

“It has been a pleasure hosting all our visitors today. I would like to thank our vistors, team and volunteers for making this a special day,” he said.

Visiting chairman Kayol Athwariya added the Mumbai side had enjoyed their time in east London, saying: “Today is a special day. We have been overwhelmed by the welcome of our hosts and it has been a pleasure to play at Mayesbrook Park.

“We wish Scintilla well for the future and hope they retain the Essex County Cricket League Premier Division championship.”
