FORD'S excellent start to the Lords International Essex league continued as they comfortably eased past Asians on Saturday.

The Dagenham club secured their second win in a row and a great team effort was at the heart of the victory.

Ford's started strongly and took the crucial wickets of Fahed Sheikh (6), wicket keeper M Ahmed (1) and Faisal Patel (2) as opening bowlers Husnain Abas (2-18) and Clem Rolle (2-34) got the home side off to an excellent start.

W Mahmood and Siyan Ahmed added stability as Asians seemed to make a recovery but as soon as they seemed to be putting their side in a decent position they were removed for 25 and 30 apiece. Captain Shahid Iqbal tried to fight back for his side with an admirable 37 but excellent bowling from Aftab Khan (3-17) and Christopher Dev-erill (2-36) limited the visitors to 135.

Chasing the modest total Ford's started nervously as they lost opener Kamran Sheraz for a duck.

Khan and Deverill both made starts scoring 24 each but neither could push on and when Sibet Hussain went without troubling the scorers the home side feared the worst.

However Rolle showed his all-round ability as he struck a match winning 25 to see Ford's home to victory number two.
