Scintilla celebrated a three-wicket win over Essex County League Premier Division rivals Redbridge.

Sajal Rahman took five wickets as the home side made 237-7, with Badrul Alam Chowdhury hitting 103 to help seal victory with three overs to spare.

Club captain Ahmed Choudhury said: “We were deflated after last week’s derby loss, but it is a measure of our resilience that we have put that out of our system and bounced back so well.”

The seconds went down against Newham in their Division One clash, but Shaha Riadh’s Essex Sunday League side got the better of Rose & Crown.

After scoring 158 from 35 overs, Scintilla dismissed their rivals for 109 as Bulbul Kadir impressed.

Riadh said: “We have four teams playing over a typical weekend and I still feel we could go up a few gears in terms of fitness levels.”

Adil Ejaz Bhatti took five wickets as Scintilla lost to Rising Star in the NCL.
