Scintilla see off challengers

Aminul Islam Shihan was 81 not out as Ayaz Karim’s Scintilla made quick work of Challengers in the latest round of the National Cricket League.

Challengers won the toss and batted first with Mostafa hitting 70 for his team en route to 188/10 from 29.3 overs.

Sajal Rahman took three wickets with Junaid Rahman and Ahaha Riadh, two, and Ashfaqur Rahaman Nobel with one.

After tea Mostafa took 3 for 39 but it was not enough to stop man of the match Shihan as Scintilla reached 189-8 from 25.3 overs.

Tanin and Mahabub Chisty added 31 and 18 respectively.

Captain Ayaz Karim said: “Another day and we celebrate another good win.

“We are looking to cement a place in the top half of the table and I’m pleased with our recent consistency.”

Due to rain the Essex County Cricket League clash between Scintilla and Roding Valley was called off and the teams shared ten points each.
