Scintilla made short work of Hawks for an impressive win in the Essex County League Premier Division.

Pace bowler Morshedur Rahman repaid the faith shown in him by club captain Ahmed Choudhury to tear through the batting as the hosts were dismissesd for 93 in 21 overs.

Rahman finished with 5-20, while Mohammad Bodrul Alam Chowdhury (2-16) and Abul Hasib (2-28) nabbed braces for the visitors.

And Scintilla raced to their target inside 19 overs, with Juwel Roy hitting an unbeaten 50 from 46 balls after Chowdhury (21) had made early runs.

Rahman took the man of the match award in the six-wicket win and captain Ayaz Karim said: “The fact the majority of the team were fasting during Ramadan speaks volumes about our excellent performance.”

Choudhury added: “We’ve never bowled out a team like Hawks for under 100. To do so against leage contenders is a massive boost for us.”
