Cricket club are participating in event by The Alzheimer’s Society

Scintilla, the reigning Essex County Cricket League Champions, have announced that they are support Dementia Awareness Week.

A range of events are being held across the country to mark the week, culminating in the first ever 24 hour sessions of “Dementia Friends” over the upcoming Bank Holiday.

Scintilla captain Ahmed Choudhury believes it is important for the club to take part in the week the raise awareness of dementia.

“Dementia affects young and old alike. With love and support people can lead happy, fruitful lives,” said Choudhury

“We are very happy to support Dementia Awareness Week and help make a difference to the lives of people living with dementia.”

The Alzheimer’s Society believe passionately that life doesn’t end when dementia begins - that it’s possible to hold on to your life and to do and experience new things. That’s why the Society is encouraging all supporters to do something new during Dementia Awareness Week.
