Aminul Islam Shihan’s brilliant unbeaten 124 was the platform for a famous Scintilla victory over Chakwal Stars.

Chakwall won the toss and batted first to reach a handy 263-8 after 40 overs with Amir 55, and Najaf, 65 featuring prominently.

It wasn’t quite enough though as Ayaz Karim set loose Ashfaqur Rahaman Nobel who achieved (4-35) and 27 runs. The run chase was set in motion by a controlled 58 from Ashraful Islam, 50 from Sajal Rahman, 38 from Junaed Rahman Tanin, 34 from Fahim Ahmed before the Shihan show wrapped up proceedings as Scintilla stormed home by 4 wickets after 36 overs.

Captain Ayaz Karim said: “This is one of the best performances I have had the pleasure of witnessing for a long time.

“Shihan was just immense but the old guard of Sajal, Nobel, Ashraful and Junaed showed just how much strength in depth we have.

“This is a win to treasure but we now focus on the next two games.”
