Scintilla all-rounder Junaed Tanin continued his fine form to help secure victory over Oakfield Parkonians in the Essex Sunday League West Division.

Parks chose to bat first after winning the toss and reached 229, with Tanin spearheading Scintilla’s attack as he helped himself to a five-wicket haul.

There were two wickets apiece for Sajal Rahman and Mohammad Badrul Alam Chowdhury, with Ashfaqur Rahaman Nobel also getting in on the act.

Tanin then played the lead role with the bat in Scintilla’s reply, hitting an unbeaten 79 and sharing a 65-run stand with Sajal Rahman (34 not out) after Ashraful Islam fell three runs short of his half-century.

Captain Shaha Riadh said: “I’m very proud with the response from the boys. It was blazing hot and the majority of the team were fasting as it is Ramadan.

“We have character and an iron will to succeed. It’s fantastic and the key now is to maintain this form.”
