Dagenham prospects prove future for club is bright with top displays on home show

A host of Dagenham BC prospects had plenty to celebrate on a second home show in three weeks at the Roundhouse on Friday.

Jayden Slade opened the show with an excellent display of footwork against southpaw Francie O’Donnell of White Hart Lane in a skills bout.

Carter Bennett, meanwhile, made his long awaited debut against MK Victors’ David Joyce in another skills bout.

Brodie Gingell was another outstanding Daggers debutant who showed a lot of courage and determination in his skills bout against White Hart Lane’s Denny Houlihan.

Jude Binding was hoping to reverse his previous result against Five Star’s Brennan Humm, but instead succumbed to another defeat.

Harry Carter was finally able to deliver the kind of performance his coaches knew he could when beating MK Victors rival Frankie Hayles on points.

Carter’s performance was so impressive that he collected the prize for the Best Home Boxer.

Patrick Kerrigan conceded a considerable height and reach advantage to Govin Chahil of Evolve, which ultimately contributed to a points loss for the Daggers hope.

Mack Kempton recorded his first win for the Daggers, in beating Sam Mann of Canvey on points.

Kempton had trailed in the first round, but showed great determination to come back and triumph.

Akash Bhangal got back to winning form, boxing beautifully to beat a strong and capable opponent in Reece Legatt of Norwich City.

Awais Khan also got back on the winning trail, beating Kody Mellors from Westside ABC on points.

Thomas Svedas beat Smokeys rival Bayley Nunn on points after a close fight between two talented boxers.

Waqar Rafiq (Daggers) returned to the ring after a long lay-off, and found the going tough against hard hitting Eastgates’s Jack Williams, who stopped the Daggers man in the second round.

The final bout of the evening was a rematch between Michael Bankole Daggers and Sabir Hussein of Fight4Peace, with the Daggers man winning on points.

There were also several bouts involving fighters from other clubs on the show.
