There were mixed fortunes for Dagenham BC’s Kerrigan brothers on an East London Boxing Academy show on Sunday.

Patrick Kerrigan used his strength and speed against a taller opponent to win by unanimous decision over home hope Umar Ahmed.

Peter Kerrigan, meanwhile, was beaten by unanimous decision in his bout against Hockley’s Dylan Kennedy, who landed the cleaner blows.

The pair had met the previous weekend with Kerrigan winner and the ‘decider’ is due to take place in the New Year.

Michael Bankole recorded a thrilling victory over Westside rival Michael Geongu after a stern talking to by coach Jason Gullefer between the second and third rounds.

Jayden Slade, Lewis Cook, Harry Carter and Brandon Copley are all booked for action at Smokey’s Community Boxing Academy this weekend in their final bouts of 2018.

All four will be hoping they can end the year on a high by claiming a win on the show in Tilbury.
