Early success for new judo club

Two Toshi Kazoku Judokwai members finish on podium at competition in the capital
Toshi Kazoku Judokwai may have only been founded four weeks ago but the Barking and Dagenham judo club have been busy picking up medals at the London Open.
The event attracts some of the best judoka from around Europe and Toshi Kazoku sent four club members to compete in the tournament.
Lauren Jones took gold in the junior group competition while Adara Kabara, who is visually impaired, won bronze in the men’s masters category.
Also in action were Casey and Danielle Potter, who missed out on medals in their first ever level four event.
“This is a great result for the new club,” said a club spokesperson.
Toshi Kazoku train every Tuesday and Friday (Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 16) in the dance hall at the Barking Abbey School Leisure Centre on Woodbridge Road.
