Barking had to settle for a share of the spoils with Heybridge Swifts after a six-goal pre-Christmas thriller at Scraley Road.

Blues had seen their 12-match unbeaten run come to an end with a 4-0 loss at Bowers a week earlier but took the lead on the stroke of half time through Dan Gilchrist.

Martin Tuohy doubled the advantage for the visitors just three minutes into the second half, but the hosts hit back through Luke Callander with 17 minutes remaining.

Juan Luque then levelled for the cup giantkillers on 81 minutes, in front of a crowd fo 288, but Barking regained the lead moments later through Tiob Adeyemi.

They could not hold on to their lead, though, as Ryan Henshaw squared matters in the final minute of normal time to help Heybridge pick up a point.

After welcoming Witham Town to Mayesbrook Park on Boxing Day (1pm), Barking host Hornchurch on December 30 and visit Tilbury on January 2.

Barking: Bowles, Tarbard, Marfo (Peart 86), O’Brien, Jaffa, Adeyemi, Reed (Levett 74), Seymour, Tuohy (Jones 81), Gilchrist, Taylor. Unused subs: Hughes-Mason, Reynolds.
