Dagenham & Redbridge manager Wayne Burnett is hoping for a change of fortune when he comes up against good friend John Still this evening.

The Victoria Road boss has never beaten former Daggers manager whenever they have come up against each other, although the pair have never met in a competitive fixture before.

And Burnett would love to change that stat but appreciates how tough a test it will be.

“I have never beaten my good friend Mr Still in any game so lets hope there is a change in fortune,” admitted the Daggers boss.

“It would be nice (to beat him) but it would be nice to beat him anytime.

“I’m looking forward to it, he is a very good friend of mine and I am pleased he’s doing so well.

“I have great respect for John and I wouldn’t be in the position I am now if it wasn’t for him.

“It is going to be a very tough place to go but we will have to go and try and win the football match.”

Burnett is set to be without several midfielders this evening with captain Abu Ogogo set to serve a suspension following his red card against Newport County last weekend.

Luke Howell remains out with a groin problem and Joss Labadie was forced off on Saturday with a hamstring pull.

Therefore the Daggers boss is left short in midfield and Billy Bingham could be handed another starting role,

“We have to go again and be resilient and pick ourselves up and go to a very tough place,” said Burnett.

“I don’t think Joss will be available, we will have to go and see him and see who is available.

“We are going to be without our captain as well so it doesn’t look great reading but what can we do.

“We all know Billy is a decent player but he just needs game time.

“He hasn’t played for quite some weeks and he has got 45 minutes under his belt against Newport and that will do him good. He will be in contention for a place.”
