Veteran forward agrees new terms to remain with Daggers

Jamie Cureton has signed a new one-year deal to extend his stay with Dagenham & Redbridge.

The veteran strikers struck 19 times in the league and 20 goals in all competitions in his debut season at Victoria Road and was named the club’s Player of the Year.

His contract was due to expire this summer but he agreed a new contract to remain with Daggers next season.

Speaking after the 2-1 defeat away to Exeter City, manager Wayne Burnett admitted Cureton was close to agreeing fresh terms and it was only a matter of him signing.

“We’re close to agreeing with him. I think he’s going to be a Dagenham & Redbridge player next season and we’re really pleased about that. Pen’s not been put to paper but it’s going to be done in the next couple of days,” said Burnett.
