Dagenham & Redbridge: Daggers see National League game at home to Boreham Wood postponed

Wood’s involvement in FA Cup means new date is needed for their trip to Victoria Road

Dagenham & Redbridge’s National League fixture at home to Boreham Wood on December 2 has been postponed after Luke Garrard’s side reached the second round of the FA Cup.

Wood caused a shock to beat League One side Blackpool 2-1 at home in the first round on Saturday.

However, that means they will now take part in the second round, which will be held over the weekend of December 1-3, meaning they will no longer visit Victoria Road as scheduled.

A new date is to be confirmed, though competition rules state the rearranged fixture must be held within 42 days of the original match.

Daggers’ trip to Leyton Orient on Boxing Day, meanwhile, has been brought forward to a 1pm kick off.

The match at Brisbane Road will be the first in a league double-header between the sides, with the local rivals also set to do battle six days later on New Year’s Day.
