Daggers lost 2-0 at O’s on Boxing Day
Dan Sparkes says Dagenham & Redbridge must be more clinical in attack after losing 2-0 at Leyton Orient in the National League.
Daggers were consigned to a Boxing Day defeat after conceding twice to the O’s in the second half at Brisbane Road.
For much of the early part of the opening period, though, it was the Victoria Road outfit who dominated possession and territory.
Despite their dominance, Daggers were unable to do much with it, something which Sparkes believes has to improve going forward.
“I think we did well until it came to the final ball, the final cross, the shot and the set pieces, which wasn’t quite there,” he said.
“I thought we started the game quite well and kept them mostly in their half for 20 to 25 minutes.
“At half time, the talk was mostly about keep doing what we had been, but then we had a mad 10 minutes where we conceded two.
“Even from there, I still think we dominated and were in their half. We had a couple of half chances, including the ones where I fired into the side netting and hit the bar with a header, but we need to be more clinical.”
