The 22-year-old, who starred for England C during the 2017/18 campaign, will link up with Abu Ogogo at New Meadow

Fejiri Okenabirhie has left Dagenham & Redbridge to sign for League One side Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee.

The National League club confirmed the news this afternoon and the incoming funds will boost Daggers ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

It is a blow to lose Okenabirhie, who was their outstanding playing during the second half of the past season, but a switch was always expected.

The former Harrow Borough ace departs Victoria Road after scoring 19 goals in 68 appearances for Daggers.

10 of those goals occurred from January 6 onwards with Okenabirhie’s fine form earning him admirers from the Football League.

One of those clubs, Shrewsbury, have now made their move and the 22-year-old will link up with former Dagenham captain Abu Ogogo at New Meadow.

A statement on the official club website read: “We’d like to thank Fejiri for his time at the Daggers and wish him every success for the future.”
