Midfielder, who has not played competitively for Daggers since 2009, went close with late chance in friendly against West Ham United
Glen Southam was gutted not to mark his return for Dagenham & Redbridge against West Ham United in a fundraising friendly a goal.
The Daggers legend, who has not played competitively for the Victoria Road side since 2009, came on for the final few minutes against the Hammers on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old went close to marking his comeback with a goal, but dragged his effort narrowly wide of the posts from the edge of the box.
The midfielder certainly looked to enjoy his time back in a Daggers shirt, but he was still disappointed not to make more of his late effort on goal in the match.
“That’s my sort of range. In football, you get one chance and I’ll still beat myself up like I did 10 years ago for missing that,” said Southam.
“It’s one of those things, but it was lovely to get out there and a good occasion for the club. Hopefully it’s done us well with the financial side.”
