Defender joins Daggers until end of season

Dagenham & Redbridge have signed defender Kevin Lokko on a season-lonfrom Football League side Stevenage.

The 21-year-old is an England C international and can operate both at centre-back and left-back.

Lokko only joined Boro on Wednesday from Maidstone United of the National League on Wednesday, but has been shipped out in order to play first-team football.

The young defender becomes John Still’s eighth summer signing following the additions of Ben Nunn, Dan Sparkes, Morgan Ferrier, Bondz N’Gala, Michael Cheek, Charlee Adams and Nick Wheeler.

Lokko will compete for the centre-back berths with N’Gala, Craig Robson and skipper Scott Doe.

Offering cover at left-back too, Lokko will add to the options in that position which currently numbers Luke Pennell, Jake Howells and teenager Liam Gordon.

Lokko will wear the number 18 shirt for Daggers and could make his debut at home to Barrow tomorrow.

The defender will return to former club Maidstone on August 28 when Daggers visit the Gallagher Stadium.
