Dagenham & Redbridge manager Peter Taylor believes the pressure will be on Halifax this weekend after their strong start to the season.
Daggers make the long trip north to The Shay on Saturday for their fifth match of the National League campaign eager to cause an upset against Jamie Fullarton’s in-form side.
With boss Taylor insisting players can face the Shaymen without any pressure on their shoulders and he is also hoping to have more players available for selection.
“I think sometimes the players find it at times a touch easier away from home as all the pressure is maybe on the home team to win the game,” he said.
“Hopefully we have no injuries so we will have more of a squad to choose the team from.”
He did admit he is pleased with his young squad but feels they will have bad days due to inexperience throughout the campaign.
“I’m happy, we’re still a very young squad, and we’re still going to have days like (Saturday), but as long as they show up on Monday morning determined to pick it up again then that’s ok.”
It will be Dagenham’s fifth match in the space of two weeks but Taylor is not concerned about tired legs and feels it will be another bit of experience for his side.
“Halifax will be in the same boat as well, but it will be nice going back to Yorkshire, I quite like Yorkshire.
“It is a proper football ground so it will be a good experience for the boys.”
The former England caretaker manager knows it will be a tough test but feels like Halifax have to slip-up sooner or later.
“It will be, but they’ve got to dip somewhere, so hopefully it will be on Saturday.”
