Essex club beaten 1-0 at Boreham Wood on Saturday despite vocal travelling support

Assistant manager Terry Harris hopes the Dagenham & Redbridge squad give their fans something to cheer about when they host Maidstone United in the Vanarama National League on Tuesday night.

Daggers welcome Stones for their first home league game of the season after losing 1-0 at Boreham Wood on Saturday.

Despite the result at the weekend, Daggers received tremendous support from the 315 travelling fans.

And with plenty more expected to be in attendance to cheer the Victoria Road side on against Maidstone on Tuesday, Harris hopes the squad can deliver a first win of the new term.

“I thought the fans were excellent on Saturday and got behind the team when they had to,” he said.

“They supported the team all the way and even at the full-time whistle, they were still behind the lads.

“I thank the supporters for that; hopefully they’ll be there on Tuesday night and we can get three points on the board for them.”
