Matt Robinson will take on the role of vice-captain for the Essex club

Dagenham & Redbridge have confirmed Ben Nunn will captain the side in the National League this season.

The 28-year-old joined Daggers from Boreham Wood in the summer of 2017 and went on the finish last season as the club’s first-choice right-back.

However, the former Chelmsford City defender has spent much of the summer on the sidelines nursing some slight tendonitis in his knee.

Daggers have also confirmed that Matt Robinson, who regularly wore the armband during pre-season, will be the club’s vice-captain this term.

Robinson joined Daggers in 2016 from Luton Town, with whom he won the National League title in the 2013/14 campaign.

The 24-year-old has been a regular fixture in the Daggers midfield since joining, often featuring alongside Andre Boucaud, who ended last season as skipper before joining divisional rivals Barnet.

In Nunn and Robinson, new Daggers boss Peter Taylor has selected two good leaders for the new campaign.
