Midfielder moves on after six years with Daggers

Abu Ogogo has been released by Dagenham & Redbridge following the conclusion of the 2014/15 season.

Ogogo has captained the club for the past three seasons, having been handed the armband by former manager John Still in the summer of 2012.

The midfielder, who can also play in defence, made 249 appearances and scored 19 goals during a six-year stay at Victoria Road.

Manager Wayne Burnett was quick to praise Ogogo’s efforts during his time with the Daggers.

“I would personally like to thank and wish Abu all the very best for the future,” said Burnett.

“He has been an excellent servant to our club. I would have loved for him to stay, just like many of our supporters but we must respect his desire to play at the highest level.“
