Former Folkestone Invicta midfielder exits Victoria Road by mutual consent

Dagenham & Redbridge have announced that midfielder Scott Heard has left the club after cancelling his contract by mutual consent with the club

The youngster moved to Victoria Road in October from Isthmian League Division One outfit Folkestone Invicta.

Heard’s form at Invicta saw him linked with Football League clubs Gillingham and Chesterfield while fellow Kent side Maidstone United also registered an interest in the midfielder.

But John Still persuaded the youngster to join Daggers and he went on to make nine appearances in total for the club.

The former Folkestone ace enjoyed a brief loan spell at East Thurrock United last season between February and April.

Heard scored his only goal for Dagenham against Woking in April, but will now move on to pastures new.

A statement on the official club website read: “We would like to thank Scott for his services while at the club and we wish him the best for the future.”
