Defender returns to Victoria Road after starting club as youth player with Essex club

Dagenham & Redbridge have added to their defensive options with the signing of Kenny Clark from Vanarama National League rivals Ebbsfleet United.

The 30-year-old returns to Daggers having started his career as a youth player with the Victoria Road club and has signed a deal through to the summer of 2021

Following his release by the Essex side in 2006, Clark has gone on to play for Thurrock, Chelmsford City and Fleet, for whom he has made over 200 appearances.

Clark, who will wear the number eight shirt, could make his debut for Daggers on Tuesday night when they play host to Havant & Waterlooville.

The new signing told the club website: “I’m absolutely over the moon to re-sign for the Daggers.

“I’m glad to be back where it all started so many years ago and I’m looking forward to getting down to business on the pitch.”

Daggers boss Peter Taylor commented: “We are delighted to have wrapped up the signing of Kenny, he is a very experienced centre half who knows this club well.

“He is a leader and an organiser, and he will be great signing for us on and off the pitch.”
