Euro Dagenham have joined in partnership with League One side Brentford.
Euro Dagenham chairman Ray Jerome believes the club’s partnership with League One side Brentford FC will allow all players to fulfil their potential.
A deal was announced recently that the two would join forces to set up a new satellite training centre at the SportHouse facility at Mayesbrook Park and help develop local youngsters, which will see the best invited to join the Bees.
But Jerome feels even those who just play for fun can also gain a lot from the tie-up.
“This is a partnership that will help all players at Euro Dagenham go on to fulfil their potential,” said Jerome.
“For the very best that may mean a chance to join Brentford’s Academy and progress through.
“But even those who will just play football for fun will develop with the coaching Brentford can provide and benefit from better equipment and facilities we will have.
“We coach 250 boys every week. Maybe only 20 will get to the level Brentford are looking at, but player development will improve across the board.
“Euro Dagenham is the first club in the borough to go out and build this sort of partnership.
“We want to raise the standard of youth football coaching in the area and this will help us do it.
“We consider ourselves to be a club where players can improve as footballers and as people. That Brentford want to come on board with us is an indication of where we are at.”
Brentford’s Head of Youth Development, Sean O’Connor, who conceived and set up the idea with Jerome, said: “I go all over London watching players that may fit in to Brentford and very rarely do I see someone who coaches players in the way Ray and his guys at Euro Dagenham do.
“Their player development is on par with what you would see at some top-level clubs.
“We can work with their coaches and their players and hopefully find young footballers to come in to Brentford Football Club.”
The club will also be running trials throughout the months of July and August. For further details contact secretary Jo Prior on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07946 829224.
