The Football Association have confirmed that membership of their FA Licensed Coaches’ Club will be absolutely free for the forthcoming 2013/14 season as it aims to raise standards across the game by ensuring that coaches keep their training and qualifications up to date.

It costs nothing to join for the new campaign, and members can enjoy an array of benefits, including an FA coaching licence, access to a ‘members only’ website and discounts on FA Learning national courses.

They will also be entered into a ballot for 100 pairs of free tickets to England home matches and access to exclusive local Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training events.

The club has been in existence for several years and it adopts an ethos of positively affecting attitudes, ethics, knowledge and performance.

Experienced coaches, as well as those in the process of qualifying, can benefit from local and national support to ensure they’re the best they can be - for themselves, and the people they’re coaching.

Essex FA Development Officer Gary Piggott believes there is a need for coaches to remain informed of new techniques as well as reminding themselves of existing practices.

He recommends signing-up as a means of staying in touch, explaining: “We’re constantly looking to raise standards at all levels.

“The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club gives members ideas for their continual development as well as the chance to see experienced and well-qualified coaches facilitate sessions.

“It’s a great way of supporting those who are out and about in the grassroots community on a regular basis. Members can enhance their knowledge and personal development, share good practice and network with like-minded people.”

Additional options can be bolted on to each membership, such as three issues of ‘Licensed Coaches Magazine - The Boot Room’ and insurance (civil liability and personal accident), plus physio care.

Access to FA Licensed Coaches’ merchandise can be obtained, as well as use of UEFA’s 3D animation tool, TactX.
