Blues boss believes attack can find route through second-tighest defence in Essex Senior League

Glen Golby has backed his Barking forwards to fire the team to glory at London Bari tonight (Wednesday).

The Blues will look to make it two wins from two in the Essex Senior League following a 2-1 success at Burnham Ramblers.

But it will be tough against a Bari side who boast the league’s second best defensive record.

When the two sides met at Mayesbrook Park in September, they played out a goalless draw.

But Golby believes there is enough firepower in the Barking attack to overcome Bari this time around.

“We had a fair few chances in that game to score, but Bari defended well and have one of the best defensive record in the league,” said the joint-boss.

“We know it will be hard, but it the boys are on form and we get our tactics right, we are confident we can get the win we want.

It will be an interesting battle between the sides, with Barking boasting one of the league’s best attacking records trying to break down the resolve of the resilient Bari.

But Golby is confident he has the players needed to find a way through the tough Bari defence.

“We have players like John Bricknell who can play in the hole and draw defenders out of position,” added Golby.

“Or we can use the likes of Lamar Reynolds and James Peagram with their pace, so I’m confident we can break Bari down.”
