May & Baker boss Micky Wetherall admits preparation was not ideal as they sealed a 3-0 victory away to Wormley Rovers.

Goals from Dean Hall, Daniel Gilchrist and Besmir Hoxhaj sealed the three points to make it back-to-back wins in the Thurlow Nunn Division One South.

“I was certainly not happy with the first-half performance,” Wetherall said.

“We had players arriving at 2.30pm after being stuck in traffic and others getting a black cab from the train station at 2.40pm so I was not best pleased prior to the game.

“We then started very poorly and the lads know that’s not acceptable, we maybe could have had one or two in the first half, but we didn’t so we went in at half time and went through what we expect of them as a team.

“They came out second half much better and got a 3-0 win so happy with the end result.”

The boss also feels although they currently sit fourth in the table that they are still not at their best yet.

“The season has started ok, we are not where we want to be performance wise but the performances are coming.

“Team’s are a lot more compact and defensive against us after a few high scoring wins but that’s football.”
