Borough League: Eastbury School 3 Sydney Russell School 1

Lateef Adeyenmi’s strike helped seal a Borough League success for Eastbury’s year eight football team.

The match was a repeat of the Borough Cup final from last season, which saw Eastbury emerged 2-1 victors, and they went in front in this encounter through Kieren Owusu.

However, they gave a way a sloppy free-kick and Sydney Russell duly levelled. But within an instant Eastbury were in front once again as Nathan Kitenge slotted home.

The game was full of chances but the points were wrapped up when the Sydney Russell goalkeeper fumbled and Adeyenmi pounced, with Sameer Punn taking the man of the match award.

Eastbury: Nehal Butt, Chrysty Nsulu, Mikel Muca, Jon Zuqolli, Sameer Punn, Patrick Armaah, Lateef Adeyenmi, Gersi Lika, Gracia Muhemba, Kieren Owusu, Nathan Kitenge. Substitutes: Daniel Shabani, Kieren Dickerson, Eraldi Cufi, Trixon Ngola.
