Eastbury School’s year eight football side turned in a strong second half showing to progress in the Borough Cup against a hard-working Robert Clack.

The visitors took the lead midway through the first half and the score remained 1-0 at the break in their favour

The second half saw a huge improvement from all players and the quality of the performance showed in the score.

The best of the bunch was a Gersi Lika cheeky chip late in the game to round off the victory, while Kieren Owusu, Nathan Kitenge and Gersi Lika all netted braces.

And as a result of the win, Eastbury will face Dagenham Park in the next round.

They had gone into the fixture on the back of a 4-2 success over local rivals Barking Abbey.

Mikel Muca gave them the lead, only for Abbey to take a 2-1 lead at the break.

Kitenge levelled the scores, before Owusu and an own goal saw Eastbury claim all three points.
