Youngsters impressed against rivals from across the south east and London

Valence youngsters had a great time at the regional round of the Premier Primary Stars Tournament, finishing as runners-up.

The Dagenham school progressed to the regional finals, which were held at West Ham United Football Academy in Newham, after coming through a qualifier.

Valence finished at the top of their group in the opening round, finishing ahead of Clockhouse, Cathedral, Kensington and Winston Way.

In the quarter-finals, Valence came up against familiar foes Grafton, but progressed thanks to a spectacular goal.

Valence then took on Ingatestone in the semi-finals, with another fine strike helping to seal a narrow win for the Dagenham school.

In the final, Valence were pitted against a competitive Churchfields team to decide who would progress to the national finals at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium.

Unfortunately for Valence, the final proved to be a bridge too far as they suffered defeat, but the youngsters can still be proud of their efforts.

Valence: Bangurah, Inayat, Efobi, Mintah, McKenzie, Shonuge, Bandera, Sacevicius.
