Annual event takes place next month

Girls in all ages can enjoy free skills tests, challenges and small-sided games while celebrating the female game on July 25 from 11am - 3pm at Shenfield High School at the annual Football Funday

Invitations are being extended to clubs and schools, who can bring under-eights up to under-18s to the event which is being jointly run by the Essex Fa and the Essex Girls’ and Women’s League.

Anyone who is not part of a club is welcome to come along and find out about local clubs or taster sessions.

The day was run as a standalone event for the first time last year and Essex FA development office Emma Burden is hoping a similar success this year.

“Last year had a great feel to it,” she said. “We wanted it to be a fun day and I think that’s exactly what the girls got.

“There was no pressure to win anything. A lot of planning has gone into this year’s event and we want it to be even bigger and better.”

To attend the free event, or for more information, contact Emma Burden via or 01245393073.
