Stillwater report: GLEN Gateson fishing Wagtail Lake on peg 17 at Tylers Common, Brentwood landed a fine 7lb barbel, the best yet to come out of the lake, also a 4lb carp alongside a bucketful of roach and rudd, writes KEITH LEVERETT.

All the fish were caught on boilies, the barbell was on luncheon meat. On peg 33 Matt Wade had carp to 4lbs his friend Gary Smith had carp to 5lbs on fake corn and boilies.

On Willow, Ian Hutchinson had 51lbs of carp fishing 13m on the pole with pellet.

Most areas are fishing well with the matches also producing catches in excess of 80lbs, weights that you would expect in the summer.

The Square Lake at the Warren Fishery continues to impress with some excellent early season fishing.

Quality roach and F1 hybrids continue to be caught in quantity by float and feeder anglers.

Season ticket Dave Hemmings had a good day, taking a large bag of quality roach and several pristine F1 hybrids up to 5lb.

Steve Moss landed a nice 15lb pike and pike to 18lbs were landed regularly throughout the week.

Carp are starting to be caught in greater numbers with one 24lb capture reported on Saturday.

Brothers Paul and Alan Crissell fished the same swim, had bites at the same time and both landed mirror carp weighing 14lbs.

On the main lake junior member, 15-year-old Ryan Jenkins, captured the biggest carp of the week with a stunning 24lbs 12oz common carp taken from the pier area.

Large pike are still coming out, with the biggest reported capture taken by Mark Ellis weighing in at 23lbs.

It seems that quite a few smaller pike up to 15lbs were caught, with Steve Tolton among these anglers with a nice 12lb fish.

Catch of the week goes to Alan Moss of Romford who caught over 30lbs of quality roach. The majority weighing between eight to 14ozs using waggler fished maggots from the beach area.

His catch also included a 1lb 11oz perch.

Match results: The Tuesday Open on Ash Lake was won this week by Bill Reynolds with 81lbs on pole and pellet, second Dennis Lipscombe weighing in with 76lbs, J Green 73lbs, Fireman Sam 68lbs.

The Saturday Open on the Ash Lake was won by R Pisano with 39lbs 2ozs on the maggot feeder, second E Sugden with 36lbs 8ozs.

Taking third place was D Booth, weighing in with 35lbs 4ozs, fourth Len Golding with 33lbs 12ozs, fifth D Davies with 29lbs 4ozs, George Manoli with 21lbs 12ozs.

Future matches: Dennis Lipscombe will be running open matches on Willow and Ash on Tuesdays during the winter months.
