Stillwater details: Reports indicate there are still plenty of carp being caught at the Warren and just to prove the point the main lake had the best ever catch of carp on Friday morning, writes KEITH LEVERETT.

It was Vince Harvey who took a staggering ten fish over 20lbs at the main lake -his best fish was a mirror of 28lbs 8ozs.

There are plenty of roach being caught of the beach section of the lake, mainly on the waggler. Quality roach being caught on sweetcorn, also skimmer bream.

The square lake has been producing some impressive carp to 19lbs and the best of the catches go to 15-year-old Ryan Jenkins who recently had a total catch of 20 fish, including a fine common of 21lbs 4ozs.

Another even younger junior angler, 14-year-old Jay Parker Murphy, had a 15lb common, also a 15lb leather carp.

The match lake has been changeable like the weather at the moment. Stan Howard bucked the trend on Tuesday fishing peg 18 fishing the waggler with sweetcorn had 70lb of tench, the best fish weighing in at 6lbs 7ozs.

Meanwhile at Tylers Common Paul Rendell fishing the Wagtail lake had eight carp to 6lbs and five tench to 5lbs. M.Gutteridge fishing peg 37 had bream into double figures also carp to 16lbs 8ozs all caught on halibut pellet.

At Tylers Common there is plenty of fresh bait and carp baits available, also tackle. Don't forget ladies, there are toilets there as well.

Match results: The Tuesday open on Willow lake this week saw first place go to Alec Roberts who weighed in with 135lbs 10ozs, second John Hunt had 123lbs 8ozs, third P.Hope had 120lbs 4ozs.

Finishing fourth on the day was Graham Dack 115lbs 4ozs, fifth R.Gobder with 104lbs, sixth J.Green with 92lbs.

The Saturday open on Horseshoe lake was won this week by Alec Roberts fishing peg 38 and weighing in with 88lbs, second D.Davies with 80lbs, third Mickey Hood with 78lbs.

Fourth place went to Len Golding 77lbs 12ozs, fifth R.Pisano with 74lbs 8ozs, sixth Dennis Lipscombe with 69lbs 4ozs.

Future matches: The Saturday Open matches will now be run on the Horseshoe Lake so book your place now.
